Abstract
The Croatian Research Information System (CroRIS) was developed as part of the Ministry of Science and Education's strategic project, "Scientific and Technological Foresight," co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (Srce) partnered in the project. Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) formally joined the project in 2021., with its Centre for Scientific Information actively contributing to further development and user support on all levels. CroRIS aims to provide comprehensive, complete and accurate data on Croatian research information. The system consists of several modules: Ministry Registers, Persons, Projects, Equipment and Services, Institutions, Croatian Scientific Bibliography (CROSBI), Journals, Events, Patents and Products and Reports. CroRIS supports open science, offering links to publications with open access. It also provides information about APC charges. Built on the CERIF data model, CroRIS is interoperable with various other databases. Interoperability with OpenAIRE and Dabar (Digital Academic Archives and Repositories) is in progress, and future plans include integrating bibliographic DMP data along with research data information. Publications are represented in the module CROSBI and dispersed into different publication types: books, book chapters, journal articles, conference papers, theses, and other papers. Journal articles and conference papers are the most common, followed by dissertations and theses. The Other papers category includes a variety of publications that don't fit into other categories, many of which belong to grey literature. The poster will provide an overview of CroRIS, focusing on its OA feasibility, with particular emphasis on module CROSBI. It will explore the types of publications, with a specific analysis of the Other papers category.
