Abstract

A comparison of data concerning financial support for publishing of Croatian scientific journals, scientific/professional journals and journals for promotion of science, provided by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MSES), according to journal’s scientific field is given. Journals from the field of natural sciences were analyzed more closely with regard to the number of published scientific papers in 2006, the number of published issues and the existence of a journal’s web pages. An emphasis was given to journals indexed in at least one of the three overviewed Thomson Scientific databases (Current Contents, Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports), as well as to journals which offer access to a full-text articles via journal’s web pages or through the Portal of scientific journals of Croatia – Hrčak.
