Abstract

Croatian Research Information System – CroRIS is a centralized system that provides comprehensive and complete information about persons, scientific activities and their results, institutions and resources in the Republic of Croatia. It was developed as a part of the strategic project of the (now) Ministry of Scien-ce, Education and Youth (MSEY), titled Scientific and Technological Foresight, aimed at enhancing the management of the scientific system while ensuring its transparency and efficiency. The project is co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The University of Zagreb, University Computing Centre Srce was a partner on the project. In 2021, the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI), specifically its Center for Scientific Information, became part of the CroRIS development through an agreement signed with MSEY and Srce. This system is organized into interconnected and integrated modules. To ensure the accuracy and consistency of the entered data, CroRIS incorporates authority files and controlled vocabularies, enabling the standardi-zed tracking of scientific information. CroRIS, as an information system, facili-tates access to key data and supports informed decision-making, making it an indispensable tool for the advancement of the scientific framework in the Repu-blic of Croatia. Additionally, CroRIS contributes to better networking within the scientific community and aligning national research efforts with international standards and practices.
