Research of larval rearing technology throught right choice of the quality and quantity of nutrition in the form of phytoplancton is very important and fundamental in the improvement of hatchery production of Ostre edulis. The 7 clutches at the larval stage of Ostre edulis was observed with special emphasized of the inflence of nutrition during the growth and the survival of larvae. All clutches had a hight positive correlation (r = 0,97-0,99), while the survival rate was low (36%). The larvae on 3rd day for 3rd clutch was significant higher in growth to the all other clutches (p<0,05). At fixation (12th or 13th day) larvae were between 285 and 321 µm in size. On 12th day higher significant difference between the larvae in growth was noted for 3rd to 7th clutch. Between the larvae in growth which finished their planctonic phase on 13th day higher significant difference was noted for 6th to 7th clutch (t=3,21; p<0,05). A decrease in size with date of laying was observed. Among the treatments (ST, T, SP) significant differences in growth were observed; a tendency for poorer growth appeared in larvae not given Tetraselmis suecica (ST) and significant differences was higher (p=0,008) than in larvae not given Pavlova lutheri (SP) (p=0,034) compared with the control feed (T-a mix of Isochrysis aff.galbana (Tahiti), Cahaetoceros calcitrans, Pavlova luteri and Tetraselmis suecica); the standard mixture for all clutches (1-6). It would be interesting to test rations that «evolve», increasing quantities of Tetraselmis suecica during larval rearing and other sources of nutrition to improve larval growth and survival in Ostrea edulis.
