Abstract

DFT calculations reveal that proton-sponge-like monoprotonated bisphosphines are exceptionally strong hydride donors, in some cases surpassing Super-Hydride. This work establishes a new design principle for metal-free hydride donors and highlights their potential for CO2 reduction.
